Espousing Professor Chibuzo Ogbuagu’s Tenure as Vice-Chancellor Abia State University:

Espousing Professor Chibuzo Ogbuagu’s Tenure as Vice-Chancellor Abia State University:

‘’Development at its Peak’’
by: Comrade Ahamefula Israel
Permit me to protect myself from the fire power of seasoned and deft writers as I engage in this suicide mission- the mission to dare congratulate this distinguished technocrat for a job well done. I lack the capacity to attempt the achievements of the mysterious gunman in Abia State University.

I do hope that Professor Uche Ikonne; Professor Udo Nwokocha; Chief Chuku Wachuku and the many Ìrókòs in the world of Academics and Administration would see my gut as a mere child's play. I seek immunity from the reactions that follows when a child insults the Ìrókò tree. I cannot afford the expensive words and historic interjections that would capture Professor Chibuzo Ogbuagu’s achievements in Abia State University in its true light, hence I see that as an insult. However, it is pertinent to discharge the burden cast upon me by my constituency- the little disciples of this ‘’Distinguished Apostle of welfarism’’, as he successfully completes his tenure today as the Vice-Chancellor of Abia State University.

Without an attempt to do a review of the linguistic potency of that word 'Espousing', I shall drop my felicitation message for Professor Ogbuagu as i swing the pendulum of his enduring legacies in Abia State University.

On assumption of office, professor Ogbuagu vowed to return Abia State University to the universally accepted academic tradition and best practices by which any University is associated with.
They are:
• Academic and other related matters;
• Financial Management;
• Infrastructural Development;
• Staff and Student Welfare;
• Approvals of delayed staff promotion;
• To resuscitate the moribund inaugural lecture series;
• To encourage vibrant academic culture through research and community services, to mention but a few.
Theses became Professor Ogbuagu’s roadmap for Abia State University administration from 2010 - 2015. Though it is difficult to define exactly what is meant when we speak of greatness in an individual just as it is difficult to define a genius. By our judgment, Professor Ogbuagu has the best brain among contemporary Institution administrators. This he has done by applying those qualities with which was endowed by nature; he undertakes his task with a dedication and sincerity that is quite remarkable.

I have met Prof Ogbuagu, but he is yet to meet me- in his numerous managerial magic in administration and takes on public issues, I have studied him and realized that he is an unrepentant and unapologetic welfarist.
How else can you describe the man who steals your attention with language and yet, holds no liability? Yes, a deity is a preternatural or supernatural human or entity that possesses miraculous or supernatural attributes, powers or super powers- Prof Ogbuagu is no less one.
If we can tremble before the work of nature, why should we not tremble before a man that exemplifies virtue as far as Academics; politics and Administration is concerned? Indeed as he completes his tenure today as the Vice-Chancellor Abia State University, he deserves a Homer to tell his story.
