Homicide detectives from the State Criminal Investigations Department
(SCID), Yaba, Lagos State, have arrested a young man for the murder of
his father.
The crime took place at Mile 2, Estate area of the state, Saturday
morning, The Eagle Online reports.
A 25-year-old Oluropo Tifase is believed to have stabbed his father to
death with scissors during their quarrel.
According to the reports, the deceased was rebuking his son for his
inappropriate behaviour before the latter cruelly attacked him.
Residents from the area, where the crime took place, alleged that
Moses Tifase was murdered by his son, who had been earlier dismissed
from the University of Lagos.
Lagos State police spokesman, Kenneth Nwosu, later revealed that the
suspect had been having constant battles with his late father over his
uncontrollable behavior.
Nwosu said:
"The suspect and his late father had a sour relationship due to his
unruly behaviour. The father and the son have not been in good
relationship, but on the fateful day of the incident, the suspect and
his father engaged each other in a serious argument.
"The suspect angrily picked up a scissors and stabbed his father on the neck."
The police spokesman added that the suspect's mother and sister were
present when the crime was committed. That is why three members of the
family were taken to SCID for further investigation.
A similar crime happened earlier this year in Enugu State where a
30-year-old man, Chukwukezi Afonogu shot his father dead from the
hunter' gun after one of their quarrels.

How Not To Fall In Love With The Wrong Person
Last week Toni Payne vented again on Instagram about her broken
marriage and how she's been called "every name in the book" because
she loved the wrong person. The issue caused some stir on social
media.
We may never find out for sure what really happened between her and
9ice and what made them divorce within a year. However, maybe Toni is
right. Maybe she and 9ice weren't really right for each other. Maybe
they fell in love with the wrong person.
Toni Payne and 9ice
Sometimes when people go into a relationship with someone, they soon
realise that the person's not right for them and that they're
essentially incompatible. But they go on with the relationship anyway.
Sometimes they do this in hope that things will change along the line
and that they'll be able to fix the situation. However, this often
turns out to be a costly miscalculation, and relationships like that
inevitably reach breaking point and implode.
In the movie God's Not Dead, Amy is dating a young business executive
and her doctor has just told her she has cancer. But when she meets
her boyfriend and gives him the news, his attitude changes and he
starts to hint that he'll leave her.
So she asks him in surprise, "I thought you love me. Why didn't I see
this coming?"
He replies, "Because you saw what you wanted to see."
Many people are like that. They're so caught up in the relationship
that they fail to see the handwriting on the wall. What they see is
the looks, talent, possession, and all that stuff. Then when things
get messed up and they realise they've been in love with the wrong
person the whole time, they wonder why they didn't see it coming. The
thing is, they saw what they wanted to see and not what was actually
there.
People also fall in love with the wrong person when they don't have a
clear idea of what they want right from the beginning. It's like going
shopping without deciding what you want or what would be best for you
and then expecting to get a great purchase. So many people go into a
relationship without first determining what kind of man or woman would
be right for them.
That's why even the wrong person seems right to them, because they
haven't prepared to sort the wheat from the chaff.
There are also times when people get into or hang onto a relationship
because of sympathy or indebtedness. They feel that this person has
done a lot for them and that they're indebted to them. So even though
they can see that this person isn't right for them, they stick to the
person anyway.
It's the same way with sympathy. People who make this mistake feel
that the person really needs them right now and that they NEED to be
with this person. So they get sucked in, and eventually they realise
they've put themselves in an unnecessary situation.
Choosing the right person is a very crucial step in developing a
lasting relationship. It takes a lot of caution and sense. So when we
find we're with the wrong person, it's best to stop hoping we can fix
them or the relationship and find the courage to move on. It's also
important to pay close attention to the signs when we're in a
relationship and not get carried away by the nice things about the
person. We need to clearly determine what kind of person would be
right for us and make sure to vet people before committing to them.
Relationship with the right person is never based on sympathy or
indebtedness.
9ice and Toni Payne have shown us so far that the wrong people for us
aren't necessarily bad people. They're simply not right for us — and
when we take this for granted, we sign up for problems that might take
years to resolve, or might never be resolved.

How To Get Someone You Like To Notice You
Attention : How do you get someone you like to notice you?
This is perhaps the oldest conundrum known to man, right after how to
get dinosaurs to not notice you. Here are some ways to get a guy's
attention, when he doesn't even know you exist.
(Note: you have to exist or these will not work.)
1.) Make eye contact with him from across the room, and then
seductively lick your lips. If you can't find them, lick someone
else's lips.
2.) Make eye contact with him but putting your eyeball on his arm.
3.) Stand behind him and tap him on the shoulder, but then sidestep
when he spins around, and keep doing this until he is so dizzy that he
is in love with you probably.
4.) Shout out "Hey, future husband!" and then, if he turns around, he
is obligated to marry you, by the law of "responds-to-shoutsies".
5.) Whistle sharply with your fingers so that he looks up at you, but
be sure you can actually do this or he'll just see you going "pthhbth"
with your fingers in your mouth.
6.) Strut around displaying your colorful plumage in order to show
your desirability as a mate (must be a peafowl).
7.) Wink at him. If you can't wink, use
your hands to grab one eyelid and wink manually.
8.) Dress to be noticed by wearing your finest wizard cloak or vampire costume.
9.) Pour your heart out in a long, rambling letter about all of your
feelings and emotions and then put some perfume in the letter and then
seal the letter with a kiss and then chicken out and put the letter in
the garbage and go cry in your bed.
10.) Wear an exotic fragrance that nobody else wears, so that he will
associate this scent only with you (e.g. Fresh Gasoline or Crayon
Taste).
11.) Make some gestures at him, and then explain that you were telling
him he was cute in sign language, even though what you actually said
was "wrrlhgbln."
12.) Guys like girls who seem like they're always having fun, so make
sure he always notices you laughing, no matter where you are. ("Ha ha
ha this is a hilarious funeral.")
13.) Talk loudly about bras and stuff at all times, in case he happens
to walk past you and is therefore forced to think about your
underwear.
14.) Walk up to him when he's talking with friends and clear your
throat. If this doesn't work, start clearing all of your body parts,
one after another. Do not stop until he is your boyfriend.
15.) Get some super-kawaii anime surgery and start calling him
"boyfriend-kun;" hopefully he won't notice that you weren't already
dating, or that you are an anime monster.
16.) Primp when you catch him looking your way by adjusting your
clothes and fixing your hair (particularly if you broke it with
anime).
17.) Muss up his hair and tell him he is a good boy like he is a dog.
Then lock eyes with him and say, "I am aware you are a human."
18.) Walk by his table at lunch, then immediately turn around and walk
past again, stomping harder and harder every time until he notices
you.
19.) Drop a lot of mysterious hints around him, e.g. "You're looking a
little under-the-weather" and "If you go out with me I will give you
the antidote."
20.) "Accidentally" run into him somewhere and act like it's all a big
coincidence. ("Wow, I didn't think I'd run into you here, in your
bedroom, looming over you while you are asleep!")
21.) Mention all of the little things you've noticed about him, such
as his eye color, his blood type, how surprisingly easy it is to steal
someone's blood, etc.
22.) Snap your fingers. If this doesn't work, snap his fingers.
23.) People love spontaneity, so he would probably find it really cute
if he got in his car to drive home and you leaped up out of the back
seat and shouted "GUESS WHO LOVES YOU??"
24.) One subtle way to flirt is to position yourself closer to
someone, inside his personal space, so try moving into his basement
without explanation or permission.
25.) Play hard-to-get, with the police, because you will have their
attention too at this point.

Earth Science
Earth science is the study of our planet's physical characteristics,
from earthquakes to raindrops, and floods to fossils. It contains many
branches, such as GEOLOGYand oceanography (the study of the world's
oceans).
WHY IS EARTH SCIENCE USEFUL?
Earth science affects our everyday lives. For example, meteorologists
study the weather and watch for dangerous storms. Hydrologists study
water and warn of floods. Seismologists study earthquakes and try to
predict where they will strike. Geologists study rocks and help to
locate useful minerals.
HOW DO EARTH SCIENTISTS WORK?
Earth scientists mainly work "in the field"—climbing mountains,
exploring the seabed, crawling through caves, or wading in swamps.
They measure and collect samples (such as rocks or river water), then
they record their findings on charts and maps.
GEOLOGY
Geology is the study of the rocks that form the planet's surface.
Geologists examine rocks to find out about the history of the Earth
and how Earth was formed.
HOW DO GEOLOGISTS DATE ROCKS?
Rocks are dated using several methods. Geologists called
stratigraphers study the distribution and order of rock layers, or
strata. The youngest rocks are usually found in layers near the
surface; older rocks lie deeper below. Some rocks contain radioactive
elements that can be dated because they decay, or change, at a
particular rate.
HOW DO FOSSILS HELP TO DATE ROCKS?
Fossils (remains or prints of living things preserved in certain types
of rock) tell scientists the relative age of that rock—that is,
whether it is older or younger than other rocks. This helps scientists
to figure out the history of rock formation in different areas. The
first fossils were formed around 3,600 million years ago.

intercepted at her residence in Onwe Nkam street, Democracy Estate,
Abakaliki and kidnapped.
The incident which took place at 3pm of the fateful day took both the
victim's neighbours and church members by surprise as such case was
the first in that area.
The husband of the victim and pastor of Dominion City, Kpirikpiri,
Pastor Aniamaka called on the church and security agents across the
state to ensure a speedy release of his wife from her abductors.
He said: "My brother this incident came as a shock to me; we just
finished our thanksgiving service for the year and my wife decided to
drive the children home and they were intercepted at our residence.
"From the account of my children who were instructed to come down from
the vehicle before the kidnappers took my wife away, the kidnappers
followed them gradually from behind until they got to our residence in
Democracy Estate.
"They threatened my wife with a gun and told my children to come down
from the car before they drove away".
Vanguard gathered that the kidnappers who are still suspected to be in
Ebonyi State had made contact with the family, demanding the sum of
N20 million for the release of the suspect.
Recall that two (2) weeks ago that a Deacon and Deaconness (names
withheld) of Assemblies of God Church in Abakaliki were kidnapped and
later released by their abductors after paying a ransom.

The Only Thing Buhari Has Changed Is His Dressing, His Ideas Are Still Tired, His Utterances Provocative – PDP
The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has
welcomed the candidacy of the former Military Head of State, General
Muhammadu Buhari as the Presidential flag bearer of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2015 general elections. The party
however said nothing has changed since the last time he contested
except his dinner suit.
"This will be the fourth time General Buhari will be contesting in the
presidential elections.
On each of the three previous occasions, he failed to articulate a
vision of the future that was acceptable to Nigerians. On each
occasion his brand of politics was rejected across Nigeria. Apart from
changing to a dinner suit, General Buhari, has not changed the tired
ideas and provocative utterances that Nigerians rejected in previous
elections.
"We hope that this time round, General Buhari will conduct a campaign
that is issue based and devoid of ethno-religious sentiments," the PDP
said in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa
Metuh.
Metuh however maintained that the Presidential candidate of the PDP,
President Goodluck Jonathan remains the best man to rule the country.
"We are convinced that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) remains the
only truly National Political Party in Nigeria, a platform on which
all Nigerians can pursue their legitimate aspirations.

More Than 100 Vietnamese Brides Vanish After Marrying Men From Rural China
Chinese police are on the trail of more than 100 Vietnamese brides who
vanished after marrying bachelors from a poor rural area of the
country, with reports suggesting that an organised ring could be
behind the disappearances. Read more from ABC news:
The grooms, from Quzhou in northern Hebei province, were introduced to
the women by Wu Meiyu, a Vietnamese bride who had lived in the area
for 20 years, the China Daily said.
Ms Wu, who received payments of more than 100,000 yuan ($19,000) if
the introductions were successful, also disappeared with the 100
women, the report added. The state-run newspaper cited an unnamed
local official saying an organised ring might be involved in the mass
disappearance.
"With the advanced communication techniques of today, it's easy for
all the brides to leave at the same time," the man told the newspaper.
Buying wives from south-east Asian countries has become increasingly
common in some of China's poor rural areas, where a gender imbalance
has developed due to a traditional preference for sons and the
country's family planning policies.
Across China, 118 males are born for every 100 females, according to
government statistics. In some rural areas men can be expected to own
a house, car, and have considerable wealth before they can attract a
Chinese bride, a cost the China Daily said could reach 400,000 yuan.

carry electronic chips while satellite imagery and remote sensing
technology are deployed to track their movements.
However this was purely a security measure aimed at curbing the
incessant clashes between fulani herdsmen and farmers.

Christ Embassy Music Director Arrested For Kidnap
It is true that when the devil pushes a man, he pushes the man to his
downfall. This is clearly the story of a robbery suspect, Edward Nnaji
who claimed to be a movie actor and played a role in a film titled
Friday Night and also the music director at Christ Embassy Church,
Zone 1, Idimangoro Parish, Agege, Lagos.
Edward-Nnaji-left-and-other-kidnap-suspects
The 25-year-old man alongsid two of his alleged accomplices were
arrested two years after they allegedly conspired with others to
kidnap a female banker, Popoola Morenikeji, and collected the sum of
N5 million as ransom before they set her free.
According to the police, PMnews reports that the suspects kidnapped
the victim at Amuwo Odofin area of Mile 2, Lagos close to her
residence when she stepped out of her vehicle to buy something and
took her to an uncompleted building in a bush at Mowe area of Ogun
State. They tied her legs and hands and kept her for four days until a
ransom was paid before they set her free.
The suspects reportedly set the victim free after her family members
paid the sum of N5 million as ransom.
The suspects, according to the police, also sold the victim's Toyota
Corolla car valued at N1.8 million for N250,000 to David Nwangboe (now
at large). They also sold all the jewellery and
handsets of the victim valued at N2 million and shared the loot.
Other suspects arrested in connection with the crime include Osas
Osagie, 23, from Ogbe village, Oredo LGA of Edo State and Patrick
Donatus Jackson, 29, who resides at 13, Famuyiwa Street, Idimangoro,
Agege, Lagos, and hails from Akwa Ibom State. One of the suspects
simply called Jek is also at large.
However, nemesis caught up with the arrested suspects two years after
they allegedly perpetrated the act on August 1, 2014. The alleged ring
leader, Nnaji regrouped with others and sent a threat to life text
message to the victim to send N150,000 into their account for recharge
card, with a warning that if she failed to send the money, they will
trail her this time around and eliminate her.
The banker immediately sent a petition to the Inspector general of
Police after receiving the sms to save her from the kidnappers.
The Commissioner of Police Federal SARS, DCP Chris Ezike, took the
matter up and deployed a team led by Inspector Oluwemimo Banjoko to
fish out the suspects and they were arrested in Lagos and Edo states.
During interrogation, all the suspects allegedly confessed to the
crime and led the police to the place they kidnapped the woman and
kept her for four days before she was set free. In his alleged
confession to the police, Nnaji said Jek master minded the kidnapping
.
"Jek brought the information that there was a woman that has money but
she was very selfish and that he will want was to assist him kidnap
her and collect money from her. One of us, Patrick, a private driver,
provided his master's car with which we trailed the victim to her
street at Amuwo Odofin Estate, Mile 2 Lagos and kidnapped her.
We blindfolded her and took her to an uncompleted building at Mowe
area of Ogun state and kept her and contacted her family to pay the
sum of N5 million as ransom or else we will kill her.
The family paid N1.5m and not N5m as claimed by the victim and the
police and we released her, but we did not allow the victim to suffer
while in our custody as we fed her with rice and chicken throughout
the four days she spent with us.
"My worry now is that I don't know how the devil pushed me again two
years after we committed the crime to threaten the victim again for
more money before we were arrested. God has blessed me as I am the
director of music at the Christ Embassy Zone 1 Parish , Idimangoro,
Lagos and also an actor who played a prominent role in a film titled
Friday Night which gave me fame and fortune. I promise to change if I
am set free,"Nnaji said.
The suspects have however been charged before an Igbosere Magistrates'
court, Lagos on a four-count charge of felony to wit, armed robbery.
The offenses the police prosecutor, Supol Charles Odii said, are
punishable under section 6 b, 1, 2(A) and b of the Robbery and
Firearms Act and sections 269(1)(2)(3) and 270 of the criminal laws of
Lagos state, 2011.
The plea of the accused persons was not taken and Magistrate E. N.
Johnson ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending
DPP's advice on the matter. She adjourned the case till 13 January,
2015 for mention.

5 Reasons Why Your Wi-Fi Is Slow
There is nothing worse than having slow Wi-Fi.
It will be interesting for you to know that most customers receive
only 50% of their router's potential Wi-Fi speeds. But why it happens
and what you can do about it?
We'll explain you the reasons why your Wi-Fi is slow.
1.Signal congestionis bad for Wi-Fi signal.
When you connect to Wi-Fi you're using radio waves, and there's a
limited amount of space. So it matters how many other routers, phones,
microwaves, Bluetooth devices, etc are nearby. All electronic devices
can worsen signal strength.
2. Wi-Fi devices can'treceive and send dataat the same time.
3. If there aremany peopleusing the same channel, then the signal will be slow.
4.The locationof the router.
Place your router below the ceiling in the centre of the house!
5. Some devices arebetterthan others at connecting to Wi-Fi.
Knowing this reasons will help you to get faster Wi-Fi speeds.

Christmas Akwa Ibom Bans Sale And Use Of Bangers
The Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Gabriel Achong, has
warned members of the public, particularly users and marketers of
explosives, such as firecrackers, to desist henceforth, as those
caught in the act would be made to face the full wrath of the law
during the Christmas period.
Achong, who gave the warning in a statement in Uyo, the state capital
yesterday, explained that the ban on the use of explosives, especially
during the Yuletide season, was to avoid distractions that would
create opportunity for hoodlums to perpetrate crimes and criminality
in the state.
The commissioner also warned the youths and persons who engage in
masquerading and cultural displays to conduct themselves peacefully
throughout the season, saying the police under his watch, will not
condone acts capable of breaching the peace.
"As the yuletide period approaches, marketers and buyers, who are in
the habit of using and dealing in explosives, such as firecrackers,
should desist henceforth as this could cause distractions and threat
to security", the statement partly read.
Achong restated the commitment and readiness of the men and officers
of his command to ensure the safety of lives and property of the
citizenry and residents, not just during the Christmas period, but at
all times.

Me that I am a soda drinker. No wonder I no longer have a flat
tummy..choi! Lol. 50 year old George Prior wanted to show what

Check The Level Of Corruption Around The World As Nigeria Was Ranked as 136
Nigeria ranked below such African countries like Botswana, Cape Verde,
Mauritius, Namibia, Rwanda, Ghana and Tunisia.
This result is caused by the good governance body, which mission is to
stop corruption and promote transparency, accountability and integrity
at all levels and across all sectors of society.
According to the latest report provided by Transparency International
(TI) Nigeria has been ranked the 136th most corrupt nation out of the
174 countries.
The TI's Corruption Perceptions Index ranks countries and territories
based on how corrupt their public sector is perceived to be. According
to the organisation, a country or territory's score indicates the
perceived level of public sector corruption on a scale of 0 (highly
corrupt) to 100 (very clean). A country or territory's rank indicates
its position relative to the other countries and territories in the

José Ugaz who is the chairman of the global anti-corruption body says:
"The 2014 Corruption Perceptions Index shows that economic growth is
undermined and efforts to stop corruption fade when leaders and high
level officials abuse power to appropriate public funds for personal
gain".

7 Habits Of True Gentleman That Make Women Melt
In a world filled with late-night booty calls, infidelity and a
general "hit it and split it" mentality, it's easy to become jaded by
today's dating scene. However, true gentlemen who can win a girl over
still exist and if you, guys, want to be one of them read carefully
what kind of habits you should develop.
1. Opening doors
A guy who takes the time to come around and open the car door for you
is a keeper. Recognize and appreciate a guy who puts your comfort and
well-being first, even if it's just for a few extra seconds.
2. Saving the last bite of food
When he saves the last bite for you, it's basically him saying he
likes you more than any meal
They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. So, when he
saves the last bite for you, it's basically him saying he likes you
more than whatever meal is in front of him. Which, for the record, is
a lot.
A guy who shows interest in your baby photos, coaches your little
brother on how to play football and compliments your mother's cooking
is a guy who's in it for the long haul. These are small gestures, but
they speak volumes about his intentions.
4. Suffering through a girly movie
When a man volunteers to endure a girly show or a movie because he
knows you'll enjoy it, he earns major bonus points. (Even more, if he
does so without complaining or expecting something in return.)
5. Sending flowers
Bring unexpected flowers to make a girl smile
And it should not be the impressive bouquet you get on St. Valentine's
Day. There's just something about unexpected flowers that make a girl
smile.
6. Walking on the outside of the sidewalk
The first time someone does this, you will probably be confused. But
then you'll start to question how come other men in your life have
never been concerned about positioning themselves in such a way that
you'd be protected should a curbside tragedy strike.
7. Putting your jacket on
Chivalry is not dead, men can be everyday knights in shining armor
Women are fully capable of putting their own jackets on, but it's not
a question of ability. It's gentlemanly and kind for someone to hold
out your jacket for you or offer you theirs when it's cold.
Chivalry is not dead, men can be everyday knights in shining armour.
You just have to learn to spot the subtle, more meaningful gestures.

Man Puts Snake And Giant Tarantula In His Mouth
A Brazillian man has become an Internet sensation after shooting a
video where he puts a live tarantula and a snake in his mouth at the
same time.
The creepy footage shows Arteval Duarte, who calls himself the 'Ninja
of Serpents', handling a banded cat-eyed snake and a pinktoe
tarantula. Then he carefully wraps the snake around the spider and
place both of them in his mouth.
The footage shows Arteval Duarte andling a banded cat-eyed snake and a
pinktoe tarantula.
With the lens close to his face, Mr Duarte let the creatures both
crawl inside his mouth till then the snake successfully unwrapped
itself and the tarantula stepped out from his mouth. The 'handler'
says he has been charming and training poisonous animals for more than
15 years.

The venom of a pinktoe tarantula is considered mild, even compared to
other new-world tarantulas. The banded cat-eyed tends not to bite
humans when handled, but when it does, the venom has relatively mild
effects in most individuals (some describe it as a slight
irritating/itching sensation with slight swelling). The snake is not
considered a risk to human health.

Well, the fraudster is going to prison.
Kelvin Ogodogu has been jailed in Ghana for 10 months with hard labour.
Kelvin was arrested on the 15th of November, 2014 when he tried to
scam a woman, by telling her on Facebook that he's Majid Michel, and
needs money to facilitate his mother's funeral.
Well, luck ran out on him, when the same woman, met he real Majid in
the US during his visit, and that was how the bubble burst and poor
Kelvin was investigated and caught while trying to retrieve the money
via Western Union.

Should I Have Sold My Virginity For N600,000?
I have been making most of my withdrawals across the counter since my
ATM card got expired last month.
Anyway, I breezed into a random Diamond bank yesterday afternoon to
withdraw money.
Got the withdrawal slip and wrote out a whooping sum of two thousand,
five hundred Naira. ( I had to spell it in full so the amount would
seem huge)
My hands were stretched out non chalantly to the female banker and
when she raised her face to receive my slip, I recognise her as Seun,
my room mate in my 200L.
'Damn!" I cursed. Not when I am appearing this shabby. I should have
added another zero to the N2500 if I knew I was going to bump into
Seun.
As girls who haven't seen each other in more than two years, there was
bound to be some sort of comparison. I heaved a sigh when I remembered
my account balance is just N22000.
"Lord have mercy! Naija single girl? Is this yewwww?" she exclaimed,
stretching out her short arms in an unsuccessful attempt to hug me
over the counter.
She snatched my slip and gazed at me pitifully.
"Babezzz are things that bad? This one N2500 is bringing you to the
bank. I could pay you from my pockets you know."
No thanks!
During our days in the university, Seun was a flippant part time
student. We often teased her that her type may go as long as ten years
without getting a job.
I even promised I was going to lend her my NYSC khaki to take
Instagram photos in her backyard since part time students were not
eligible to participate in NYSC orientation exercise.
Today, the wheels of fortune has spun in her favour.
I had to lie I actually came to the bank to withdraw 15K. I took the
slip from her, tore it into two and wrote out another draft of 15K
which she paid from my account.
On getting out, I had to board a vehicle to another branch of Diamond
Bank to pay in the 12.5K balance sharp sharp! Zero tolerance for
extravagance.
Last night, we had a lengthy conversation on phone.
She wanted to know why I was unemployed and I kept dismissing her
with, "Don't worry about me jare. I'm working on something."
"Something ke? Lie lie! You think this your good girl attitude would
get you anywhere in this country?
Don't you know I got my banking job through Chuwkudi, that my sugar
daddy. If you didn't dull his friend your story would have been
different today!"
Chuwkudi's friend was a stinking oil rich magnate in Portharcourt. I
met him through Seun but there was a problem. He was married!
Seun is of the school of thought that there is absolutely nothing
wrong in dating a married man so long as both parties share some
fringe benefit in return.
Chuwkudi's friend was generous. He was ready to dash me one of
Nigeria's oil well if only I was willingly to spread one of my legs to
the South South and the other to the North East for him whenever he
needed TLC.
Each time he came by my hostel, he would squeeze N10000 to N15000 into
my palms for dinner.
During my first and unfortunately, my last tour to his company's
lodge, he promised me an IT placement in Mobil. I was going to get an
already furnished flat at his quarters after graduation. He was going
to influence my NYSC posting to an oil company and of course, a well
paying job upon completion of NYSC.
All these promises in exchange for my hymen…
"Sir, but I told you I cannot…I have not done this before…" I trailed off.
He tore off a page of his cheque book, scribbled something down and
handed the paper over to me.
"This would be yours if you spend tonight with me. . . I would make
you the envy of your friends." He swore.
Six hundred thousand Naira was written boldly on the cheque.
The highest amount of money that had ever been offered leisurely to
someone in my family's genealogy.
Honestly, It took a special level of grace to dropped the cheque on
his table and walk out that door forever.
Did that singular 'goodgirl' attitude cost me my surest ticket to this
good life I crave for? I hope not.
